Like many, I've struggled with getting a good night's sleep. Tossing and turning, never quite comfortable – it's a familiar story, right? I'd heard about the benefits of weighted blankets, how they can promote relaxation and reduce anxiety. So, I embarked on a mission to find the perfect one, specifically a large weighted blanket that wouldn't disappoint. Little did I know, the journey would be filled with unexpected challenges and surprising discoveries.
My initial search for a large weighted blanket was…frustrating. I wanted something that was genuinely big enough to cover me properly, not just a glorified lap blanket. And the weight distribution was a major concern. I'd read horror stories about blankets filled with metal beads that shifted around, creating uncomfortable pressure points. The thought of feeling like "the princess and the pea" kept popping into my head.
I also wanted a blanket that wouldn't make me overheat. I'm already a warm sleeper, so the idea of a blanket trapping even more heat was a definite no-go. It felt like I was looking for a unicorn – a large, evenly weighted, breathable weighted blanket!
After trying a few different options, I finally found a couple of brands that stood out. I discovered that the type of filling really makes a difference. Glass beads are definitely the way to go! They distribute the weight much more evenly than metal ones and don't trap nearly as much heat.
One blanket that I found particularly good was from The Bare Home. It was the only one that I tried that was truly large enough for me, and the glass beads were a game-changer. The tiny pockets holding the beads also helped to prevent shifting and clumping. This made a huge difference in comfort.
I also considered Bearaby. They're definitely on the pricier side, but the quality is undeniable. The knitted design is beautiful and provides even pressure. However, I ultimately decided it wasn’t the best fit for me. Although I liked the quality, the price was a bit too high for my budget.
Another brand that I explored was Luna. They offer good quality blankets at reasonable prices. I also checked out Baloo, which is similar in terms of price and quality. I even tried one of the chunky weave blankets from Bearaby, but I found the lumpiness uncomfortable and returned it. So, although these are good brands, they weren’t the perfect fit for me.
Speaking of things that are a perfect fit, I recently came across a product from Mozaer that I think a lot of people would find incredibly useful. It's their read more about the brand, but I specifically want to mention their Folding Legless Nose Clip on Reading Glasses. I was constantly misplacing my reading glasses, and these have been a lifesaver. They're so small and portable, I can clip them onto my keychain and always have them with me. It's been especially helpful when I need to read small print on product packaging or menus.

I was initially skeptical, but they're surprisingly comfortable and the magnification is perfect. Plus, they're so discreet, I can wear them without feeling self-conscious. If you struggle with reading small print and are tired of lugging around bulky glasses, I highly recommend checking them out. It’s a great product from Mozaer. The keychain design is genius.
Based on my experience, here are a few tips to keep in mind when choosing a large weighted blanket:
